MCP-backed duty quotes | 2026HTSRev13

One entry-level cost view across all your product lines

Build a reviewable landed subtotal with current tariff results, entry-level fee estimates, and the logistics costs you enter. Expand any line to see exactly what created its import duty.

Current data, visible boundaries: Base and Chapter 99 duties are quoted from the tariff service. MPF/HMF are estimates, and freight, insurance, broker, and other charges appear only when entered. Review warnings before using a result for a filing decision.

Built around the real workflow

From product data to a reviewable estimate

Add product lines

Enter or carry products into TLC, then confirm HTS code, origin, quantity, unit, and unit price for each line.

Quote current duty layers

The tariff service returns the base treatment and applicable Chapter 99 measures instead of relying on a hard-coded percentage stack.

Preserve rate modes

Section 301 results remain additive, capped, or exempt as returned. The interface does not flatten those outcomes into one generic rule.

Set transport and costs

Choose ocean, air, or land for fee treatment and add known shipping, insurance, broker, or other costs.

Review warnings in context

Provision-specific uncertainty stays visible at the entry and line level while the included amount remains transparent.

Export the result

Copy the calculated breakdown or export CSV data for review outside the workspace.

Current tariff treatment

No universal five-layer stack

The workspace uses the measures returned for the exact HTS code, origin, and entry facts. It does not assume every shipment receives every published tariff.

Section 301

Original China actions, Brazil, and July 2026 forced-labor measures are evaluated independently. Outcomes can be additive, capped, or exempt.

Section 232

Steel, aluminum, copper, and derivative scope can depend on the exact tariff line, current program tier, material facts, and effective date.

Human review

End-use claims, preference qualification, material origin, exclusions, and documentary requirements cannot always be proven from code and origin alone.

Scenario comparison

Compare origins without overstating what the scenario proves

Use the same classification and value assumptions to compare selected origins. The output shows the tariff effect of that origin scenario; it does not establish substantial transformation, preference eligibility, or supply availability.

Before acting on a comparison

  • Confirm that the proposed manufacturing establishes the selected customs origin.
  • Re-run the quote for the expected entry date.
  • Check trade-program rules and documentation separately.
  • Add real freight, insurance, broker, and handling quotes.

Frequently asked questions

What does the workspace calculate?

It calculates product customs value from the entered quantity and unit price, requests current base and Chapter 99 duties, estimates entry-level MPF and HMF, and adds any shipping, insurance, broker, or other costs you enter to an estimated landed subtotal.

Does the workspace use live tariff data?

The workspace searches and quotes through The Trade Lab tariff service, currently versioned to 2026HTSRev13. The result identifies its HTS release and returned duty layers so the data basis is visible.

How are current Section 301 duties calculated?

The tariff service evaluates applicable actions from the HTS code, origin, and entry facts. A returned measure can be additive, can fill a gap to an MFN-plus-duty ceiling, or can be exempt; the workspace does not assume every headline rate stacks.

Can I compare sourcing countries?

Yes. You can compare selected origins using the same product, value, quantity, and entry assumptions. The comparison is a tariff scenario, not proof that a product qualifies as originating in a selected country or under a trade agreement.

Is estimated landed subtotal the final delivered cost?

No. It includes only the calculated and entered items shown. AD/CVD, quota effects, taxes, PGA charges, demurrage, storage, and other unentered costs can still apply.
